How to Replace an spare audi key tt key replacement (https://hs0bj3fhvw.Com) G28 Engine Speed Sensor

Charles the Humble Technician shows you how to replace the G28 Engine Speed Sensor. This sensor is located at the top of the transmission, above the flywheel ring gear. It transmits a signal the ECU via an uncolored wire (T55/49) and then to the tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

    1. Engine Speed Sensor

The grey wire is situated on the outside of the transmission, directly above the flywheel ring. The sensor sends a signal via the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU uses this information to regulate boost and fuel. It also sends signals to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

The sensor serves as a reference point to connect with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu has to know when the crankshaft has reached TDC and also the position of the camshaft, so that it can activate the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails the ECU will show the P00160 error, which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are not in sync and possibly indicating the chain stretching or a jump link on the upper chain of timing. The code will not appear without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).

Nissan-New.pngTesting can be a bit difficult as there are two different pins for the connector and they have different functions but the most effective way to test it is to measure the resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read about 1000 ohms when the sensor is operating at its maximum. If you're having issues with this part, check for signs of oil or coolant in the connector bay.

    2. Injectors

Yesterday, while accelerating at full speed from the highway paytoll i had a big cut in power like the engine is out of gas or injectors are not firing anymore. Today, i pulled out the spark plugs, three were drenched with gazoline the fourth one was dry. I put a piece of tissue over each injector hole and when I turn the engine on without sparks, the ones with gazoline jump out. The 4th one stays closed. I checked the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55/30/55/48/55/14/55/48/ I get 0ohm. I'm assuming that the issue is somewhere else.

I also tried to reset the PID but with no luck. The car is able to start if the G28 is not plugged in and it runs perfectly when it is connected however it has the intermittent misfire issue at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even when it is unplugged, shows an ice temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars but the actual pressure is zero.

I'm not sure what to do, as i feel i have pretty much completely ruled out all other possibilities. I'm worried that i might have missed something. If anyone has any ideas please share them! TIA!

    3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 can be activated by a signal sent from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 sender, and both operate on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. It is easy to find an extra in a wrecking shop or parts store. It is simple to test them by putting your DMM in resistance mode and measure between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector's side up) and 2 (2nd from the left on the black connector's end). They must be infinite Ohms.

    4. ECU

The ECU of our 20vt turbo (3B AAN ABY) engines must know both the position and speed the crankshaft to determine fuel injector timing, etc. It uses a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to achieve this. If either of these go wrong, you will receive codes on the diagnostic scanner that can cause the engine to shut down.

The signs of a failed G28 sensor include an inaccurate rev counter for the gearbox and gears that shift faster than normal and/or a misfire when you are in gear. If you are experiencing any of these issues, it is likely that your sensor is deteriorating and should be replaced. They are cheap and easy-to-find especially when they're a Bosch sensor like ours. Alternately, GM's version this part would be a good option.

    5. Tachometer

A malfunctioning engine sensor can cause a variety of issues in your car. It's a crucial component of the transmission of your audi spare keys because it relays information to the ECU about how fast or slowly the car's engine is turning. If the sensor fails, it can affect the performance of the transmission, as well as the rest of the car's components.

key-from-new-car-2021-08-29-05-15-15-utc-min-scaled.jpgThe G5 engine speed sensor is situated on the edge of the transmission, above the flywheel ring gear and transmits a signal to the ECU at pin T55/49 through an uncolored wire. The ECU uses this signal to control fuel and boost, and also to timigrate. It also relays it to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster. You can test for sensor failure by examining the continuity of the sensor to the tachometer. You can also examine the continuity between pins T55/49 of the ECU and pin T6a/1 of the instrument cluster (trace [79]) and between pin T6a/1 as well as pin T26a/12. You should see around 1000 ohms of resistance between these two points. This is a common feature across the audi keys replacement cost 80-100-200-RS2 series, starting from the 1985 MC all the way up to the 1997 UrS AN and 1995 RS2 Du So, you may find some good ones in wrecking yards.
