Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon Brothers

Zeus, lord of the skies is a friendly and paternal god with an enormous exaggerated self-esteem. He is clever and brilliant and has a tremendous leadership ability.

He presides over kingship as well as the sky, lightning and thunder. He also oversees the sea, earthquakes and metals. His brother Hades oversees the underworld.

How did they become gods?

The Greeks developed a vast mythology, which was a mixture of the early Greek culture and pre-Greek Mediterranean beliefs and other cultures that they intermarried with as they conquered their territories. This was particularly applicable to their gods. Often, the representations, personalities, and stories of Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades were quite similar to each other. This could be due to artistic convention, the fact that they were brothers, or simply because the stories were told in separate regions.

Zeus was the first Olympian who overthrew Cronus the father of their children. In fear that one of his children would overthrow him, Cronus swallowed Zeus' sisters and brothers at birth. His wife Rhea was capable of sneaking out of the birth canal and save her son, so Zeus was the only child of Cronus to live.

When the Titans were defeated, Zeus and his brothers divided power between them. Zeus was the sky god and his brother Poseidon was given supreme power over the oceans.

Hades was the most vile of his siblings and became ruler of the underworld. Hades is typically depicted as a grim, ghastly persona that evokes terror and awe in everyone who encounter him. He is often associated with Cerberus the dog with three heads who guards his territory. He wears the Helm of Darkness and wields the bident (which is similar to the tridents of Poseidon).

The underworld was viewed by the ancient Greeks as an ethereal realm, not an unholy place. He is also extremely powerful and his trident is able to cause the earth to shake. He can also create storms that can capsize ships in a flash. He is the patron god of the sea as well as of horses. He is also a dangerous god to be around and his anger can be provoked easily.

Persephone is the most well-known of their tales. She was the daughter of Demeter and Zeus and was kidnapped by Hades. Despite her initially reluctance, Hades fell in love with her. Hades made a bargain with her. He would let her return to his underworld if she stayed a fraction of a year with him.

Persephone was reluctant to leave her worldly home and return to the realm of her father. In the end, she accepted the terms of the agreement. This is why it was among the rare occasions when Hades was able to travel above ground.

How do they interact?

Zeus and Poseidon are two of the most powerful gods in mythology. He is also the guardian of the throne of the dead, meaning he has the power to determine the fate of souls and send them to heaven or Oscar Reys hell.

The brothers Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon are the sons of Titan king Cronus and his sister-queen Rhea. Zeus was jealous that his brother was so loving Hera. He wanted Hera for himself. To get her, he kidnapped her and then took her to the Underworld. In the Underworld, he forced her to drink his potion. This turned her into Hebe. Hebe and she was unable to return to Demeter until she had another child. Persephone spent two-thirds of the time with Demeter and a third of the time with Hades. It also created the seasons.

During her time with Demeter She began to disregard her duties as the goddess of fertility. Hades was angry. He decided to get her back. He tricked her by changing himself into a disheveled cuckoo. Being aware that she was a fan of animals, he sat her bird close to her chest and she fell in amour. He then returned to his original form and got married to her.

After the marriage, Hades was a loving husband and father to their three children. He was anxious about his place on Mount Olympus. He wanted to be the center for the change. He proposed to the other gods that he bring hell back to earth. After many days of debate they finally came to an agreement.

While Hestia is a goddess of peace, her job is to keep the other Olympians in control. She is also the patron of marriage and gives particular care of married women. She was a pious lady, but she did have a few affairs with Zeus who was the husband of her sister. She had children with nymphs and mortals including Triton, Theseus, Orion and Pegasus.
