Style

In its 2022 Year in Infrastructure (YII) event, Bentley Systems introduced a series of enhanced products that utilize digital twins and cloud-based data to facilitate quicker, more precise design and project delivery.

Bentley's highly advanced AM system for instance, is able to convert 3D CAD designs into tangible components. The technology was used to produce everything from on-the-job assistance tools for Bentley's associates in manufacturing to historically accurate tooling to restore its iconic woodshop, as well as lightweight sanding block needed to create Bentley cars that were driven in record breaking time at the Pikes Peak Challenge.

Several improvements to Bentley's ProjectWise platform were announced which included new digital components reuse capabilities, as well as expanded capabilities for civil design review and advance design validation and the Drive Simulation tool to experience the drivability of designs and ensure the correct sight lines; and the ability to integrate multiple project file formats within one workspace to facilitate collaborative design reviews. Bentley has also announced the Bentley Infrastructure Cloud - a collection of integrated solutions that spans infrastructure project lifecycles.

The new solutions include a Dam Monitoring Solution that provides unidirectional data access. It also includes an iTwin Bridge Monitoring System that uses drone video, iTwin Capture and IoT sensors to offer real-time inspections of bridges. Bentley is also connecting its iTwin platform with the Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator (EC3) to help users meet sustainability requirements.
